Catering & Dining Trains

The Spa Valley Railway offers a number of refreshment options to passengers. These include the refreshment kiosk at Groombridge and the Parcels Van at Eridge, and of course our award winning Bar Car 'Kate', which we endeavour to run on green timetable trains, plus during many special events.

Dining in the Weald
In addition to our catering outlets, we run a wide variety of dining services throughout the year - more information on these can be found here.

On Train Catering – Kate or Restaurant Miniature Buffet (RMB)
Our Restaurant Miniature Buffet (RMB) carriage or Bar Carriage 'Kate' are open on most green timetable days serving a range of hot and cold drinks, beers, ciders, wines, spirits, crisps and a variety of other snacks.  If you fancy something more such as Gin tasting, Afternoon Tea or Sunday Roast please do click the dining train link here.

Groombridge – The Old Asparagus Hut
The Groombridge Station Refreshment Kiosk has been developed by the FROGS (Friends Of Groombridge Station!). This building was formerly a farm shop selling asparagus near Tunbridge Wells, and has been completely refurbished to meet current standards and sells a full range of light refreshments including hot and cold drinks, crisps, snacks and ice creams! It is open on most operating days by the volunteers at Groombridge station.

Eridge – Parcels Van
At Eridge, our restored Southern Railway Parcels and Miscellaneous Van (PMV) is open subject to volunteers being available serving hot and cold drinks, light refreshments, ice creams and snacks. We are delighted to annouce that it has recently been licensed for the sale of alcohol and we hope to bring you a selection of bottled beers and ciders in the not too distant future.
