Afternoon Tea in the High Weald
The Spa Valley Railway is delighted to offer Afternoon Tea on board one of our heritage 1960s carriages whilst you have a wonderful ride through the High Weald countryside. Treat your friends and family or even take loved one out for a special occasion, this is how you travel in style!
Thursday Afternoon Tea:
Board your train at Tunbridge Wells West for 14:30 and be shown to your seat. The train will depart at 15:00 for a complete return trip to Groombridge. Your Afternoon Tea service will commence prior to departure and it can be found in delightful wicker basket hampers on your table. The train will return to Tunbridge Wells West for 16:00, you will continue to remain on board prior to departing the train at 16:30 having had a scrumptious tea!
At Groombridge there’ll be plenty of time to look at the Steam engine once the train returns to the platform.
Saturday or Sunday Afternoon Tea:
Board your train at Tunbridge Wells West for 14:30 and be shown to your seat. The train will depart for 14:45 hauled by one of our powerful 1960’s Heritage Diesel Locomotives. You will travel to Eridge station enjoying a wonderful afternoon tea en route, which will be at your tables in delightful wicker basket hampers ready for you. At Eridge as your train arrives you’ll be able to see the Steam engine ready to haul your train back up the hill to Tunbridge Wells West. Return to Tunbridge Wells West will be at 15:20 arriving at Tunbridge Wells West at 15:50, however if you wish you can remain on the train for a further round trip to Eridge.

Prices start at just £64.95 for a table of two persons or £129.95 for a table of four persons, this includes train travel and the afternoon tea menu.

Torretta Di Mondelli Prosecco Brut – 11%
This sparkling Prosecco DOC has a fine mousse and aromas of wisteria flowers and green apples.
£20 per 75cl bottle
Bottega Gold Prosecco DOC Brut - 11%
A characteristically fruity and flowery bouquet with scents of Golden apple, Williams pear, acacia flowers and fresh lily.
£7.50 per 20cl bottle

For this service you can only book a complete 'Table for 2 Persons' or a 'Table for 4 Persons'.
Ensure you book the correct number of tables for the people in your party. Coach C is the only carriage available for this service.
On some occasions it may be necessary to seat customers who have purchased a 'Table for 2 Persons' on a 'Table for 4 Persons'. It may therefore be that you are sat opposite another couple at a 'Table for 4 Persons' should there not be enough tables of two.
Note that a £10 admin fee applies to all booking alterations.
