Join us and visiting Class 55 55019 'Royal Highland Fusilier' courtesy of the Deltic Preservation Society for a weekend of Deltic action up and down the Spa Valley.
A special timetable will be in use on both Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th instead of our standard green one. This will allow 55019 to operate 6 return trips from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge throughout the day, a total of 60 miles travel behind the Deltic being on offer.
For operational reasons one of our shunting locomotives will be used to haul the train the final few yards into the stations, 55019 being detached just prior to arrival and then attached again for departure. It is expected that our Class 09 09026 will undertake this duty at Eridge and Class 10 D3489 at Tunbridge Wells West.
Deltic hauled trains will depart Tunbridge Wells West at: 09:45, 11:15, 12:45, 14:15, 15:45 & 17:15 and Eridge at: 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30 & 18:00.
These trains will only call at Groombridge and not at High Rocks. For those travelling to Eridge on the national rail network there is plenty of time to connect onto the 10:30 departure.
A full working timetable is available to download here. The rostered locomotives for our other service trains that day are British Railways Class 31 31289 and visiting Hunslet 'Ring Haw' No.1982 from the North Norfolk Railway.
Our standard ticket prices apply.
