Thomas will be visiting the railway on the following dates in 2010.

Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th October 2010

Book now to meet 'Thomas the Tank Engine' at the Spa Valley Railway on the above dates. 'Thomas' will be joined by some of his friends from the famous railway stories, including 'Percy', 'Daisy', 'Diesel' and 'Jinty'. Ensuring they all behave will be 'Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller'.

‘Thomas’ will spend most of the day at Tunbridge Wells West to ensure he can meet everyone, but his friends will take it in turns to pull the special hourly trains on a 7 mile round trip (approx 45 mins). Our special all inclusive tickets include reserved seats for a train ride on your nominated train, plus access to the special attractions in the locomotive shed and yard at Tunbridge Wells. Whilst at Tunbridge Wells you can meet ‘Thomas’ and watch him shunting his trucks. There are also special activities for children including Punch and Judy, Thomas Storytelling and traditional childrens games. Our Buffet Car and Thomas Gift Shop are both located here.

The fully inclusive tickets are £10.00 for adults and £8.00 for children. Children under 18 months and babies in arms travel free.

Due to limited accommodation, advanced booking is strongly advised.

The event opens at 10:00 .

Trains depart Tunbridge Wells West hourly from 10:30 until 15:30 and then 16:45 – seats are reserved on a train of your choice.

Fat Controller's Tea Party

Why not join the ‘Fat Controller’ on the 16:45 train for a late afternoon Tea Party, which is the only train scheduled to be hauled by ‘Thomas’ himself. All children will each receive a party food box and have the chance to meet both 'Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller' and ‘Thomas’ during its seven mile round trip.

Tickets for the Tea Party train are only available in advance and spaces are strictly limited.

(Accompanying Adults pay the standard £10)

NOTE:- If booking on the Tea Party train please arrive early so that you can see all the other Day Out With Thomas attractions – they will be closed before this train returns.

How to book tickets

There are several ways to book your tickets in advance :-

¬ A booking form is now available. Simply complete the details and either post it to the booking office at the address below, or drop it into the ticket office at West Station. Payment may be made by Cheque, Credit Card or if booked in person at the ticket office by Cash (No booking fee applies).

¬ Limited Tickets for each train (except for the Tea Party) are available through the Ticketweb website. Please click on the link below – PLEASE NOTE; a Booking fee applies to tickets booked this way.

¬ Telephone bookings can be accepted on days the ticket office is open, with payment made by credit/debit card. If calling, please have the information available as listed on the booking form.

¬We will consider applications for amendments to tickets and cancellations prior to the date of travel, however a fee of £2.50 per transaction may be charged.

Event Tickets are limited – Any remaining tickets will be available on the day on a first come first served basis.

Other things you need to know

Please allow plenty of time to reach Tunbridge Wells West station as the roads and car parks can be very congested, especially on a Saturday. For details of how to find us please see the Location page.

Please Note: Groombridge and High Rocks stations will be closed during this event, although the station facilities will be available to passengers at Groombridge.
