Our world renowned Beer & Cider Festival is back for its 10th year – In association with West Kent CAMRA
The South Easts original Railway Beer Festival is back this October with 150 Real Ales and 30 Ciders perfectly complimented by live entertainment, a range of food stalls and of course our steam and heritage diesel trains! This is the 10th Real Ale & Cider Festival to be held at the Spa Valley Railway in conjunction with a group of local real ale loving enthusiasts and we’re pulling out all the stops to make up for missing 2020 and celebrating 10yrs then!
 
Entry to the festival bars at Tunbridge Wells West, Groombridge & Eridge remains FREE!
 
Trains will be operating on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd October between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge using 'Sir Keith Park', 'Douglas', visiting Class 33/0 33002 'Sea King', Class 31/4 31430 'Sister Dora' and Class 33/0 33063 'R. J. Mitchell'.
 
Train times
On Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd trains will depart from Tunbridge Wells West at 10:00, 10:30 and then every 45-minutes until the last departure at 21:45. Trains will depart from Eridge at 10:30 and then every 45-minutes until 21:45 followed by the last departure at 22:20. On Sunday 3rd October trains will depart from Tunbridge Wells west at 10:30 and then every 45-minutes until the last departure at 17:15. Trains will depart Eridge from 11:15 and then every 45-minutes until 18:00.

Ticket Prices
Entry to stations is FREE, there is no charge to access the festival sites at Tunbridge Wells West, Groombridge or Eridge, tickets are required for train travel. 
 
The only tickets required are to travel on the trains. If you are a member of CAMRA you will receive a £5 discount on train travel upon production of your in date membership card. This can only be done on the day and not in advance.

Beer Festival Tokens
Beer and Cider can be purcahsed from the bars at Tunbridge Wells West, Groombridge and on the trains using a token system, you buy tokens and exchange these tokens at the bars for beer and cider. The Eridge Station Bar and the Gin Bar at Tunbridge Wells West will be a cash/card bar where you pay as you wish, tokens are not accepted at Eridge or at the Gin Bar at Tunbridge Wells West.

For those who've never visited before, to get you started at Tunbridge Wells West please visit the Token Desk in the shed upon arrival and simply ask for a 'Starter Pack', there is a free glass included for CAMRA members upon production of a valid membership card.

You can grab a bite to eat around the railway during this event, at Tunbridge Wells West Sankey's will have the following offerings for you to enjoy:

  • Sankey’s Smokehouse Brisket
    24hr Oak Smoked fullers brisket, pickles, slaw, brioche bun

Take a steam and heritage diesel train ride along the Spa Valley Railway!

Tickets for our standard steam and heritage diesel train rides can be booked online here.

Tickets for train rides are valid all day, you can start and end your visit at any of our stations. You can either purchase tickets in advance or on the day. We also have our range of on train dining experiences taking place every operating day, details can be found here.

You can turn up and travel as many times as you like on all operating days, including travelling in the spare carriages on our evening dining services if you wish, however unless you book a dining experience food is not included! All of our stations are open but please check with High Rocks Inn directly if they are open, on some days we might not stop there when they are closed for private functions.

High Rocks
Please note that High Rocks is operating a large number of private functions at weekends and therefore on some days our trains will not stop there, this Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September NO trains will call at High Rocks due to private functions taking place.
