Tunbridge Wells West Station

Click here to book a steam train ride!

The headquarters of the Railway, the 1886-built engine shed is a unique survivor from the age of steam. It's the only one left from the many which used to exist in the south of England still performing its original purpose!

You can see our historic collection of locomotives and carriages receiving maintenance or repairs, visit or gift and model shop or visit the historic spa town. The Pantiles, an historic Regency shopping arcade is close by and well worth a visit, especially to taste the water from the Chalybeate Spring, or why not enjoy a stroll on Tunbridge Wells' extensive commons?

Tunbridge Wells West is situated off the A26 at the western end of the town. There are the brown tourist "steam train" signs on all the main routes into Tunbridge Wells, so simply follow these to find us!

There are pay and display car parks at nearby Union House, Linden Close and Major York's Road, please see here for further details.

Please note that the Sainsbury's/Homebase car park next to the station is for their customers only.

Tunbridge Wells mainline station (formerly Tunbridge Wells Central) - on the South-Eastern's Tonbridge to Hastings line - is a pleasant half mile walk along the High Street and Pantiles from West station.

Many local bus routes serve the stops adjacent to Sainsburys, just a minutes walk from our entrance.
