Spa Valley Railway » Visitor Information » News » The Roy Belle - Tuesday 30th April 2019
Thank you to everyone that travelled on The Roy Belle, it was a really good day.
Thank you to everyone that contributed to the onboard collection of which the Spa Valley Railway received 50%.
Please note that this is subject to change depending on requirement, on the day. 12:15 from Eridge is confirmed unless the mainline connection is delayed.
Roy Bell MBE sadly passed away on 18th October 2018.
He was a great friend and supporter of the Spa Valley Railway, and always a true Railway Gentleman.
We thought what better way to share our memories of Roy than by a special train on the Railway. I can not begin to describe how much he will be missed.
"The Roy Belle" special train was created.
We (The Spa Valley Railway) therefore invitie all friends and former colleagues of Roy to attend this event to celebrate his life and work and to remember the many happy times spent in his company.
"The Roy Belle" will start it's journey from Eridge at 12:15, after ensuring a connection with 11:07 Southern Trains service from London Bridge.
The train will do a couple trips between Eridge and Tunbridge Wells West, passing through the Groombridge Signalling Area, the scheme of which Roy was instrumental in developing. If you plan to travel on this Special Train, can you please let me know at the following email address email@example.com or by telephone on 01892 300143.
Our usual onboard catering using our bar car "Kate" will be available, we do however need an indication of numbers to order in enough supplies.
I will do my very best to keep this section updated.
