Well on Friday 20th September you can do just that from 12:30 until 21:45 with 7 return trips available behind the 1961 built Brush Traction, Loughborough machine. 'Sister Dora' arrived at the Spa Valley Railway in October 2018 following major work at the Mangapps Farm Railway to return it to service, fitted with an English Electric 12SVT power unit generating 1470Hp the loco has proven very popular amongst visitors and crews alike so we are delighted to offer you the chance to spend a day behind the engine.
Normally our trains only operate 30 miles per day so this opportunity will give you the chance to travel for 70 miles between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge that day. High Rocks Station will be closed on this occassion however Groombridge will be open and all trains travelling from Eridge to Tunbridge Wells West will call there giving you the chance to alight and visit the wonderful Junction Inn.
At Eridge, resident Class 73 73140 will be on hand to haul all trains from Eridge Ground Frame into the station, we have no run round facilities at this station however the 73 will not itself pull a train other than these short moves. At Eridge, if you wanted to skip a trip you could always visit the Huntsman Pub.
