Fish & Chip Lunches

27th & 28th July, 4th & 26th August plus more!

British tradition and heritage trains!
Enjoy a lunch time meal with traditional fish & chips on board our heritage train. Our Fish & Chip Lunch trains operate regularly throughout the year on selected Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays for just £25 per adult or £20 per child. You will board the train at Tunbridge Wells West and set off down the line travelling through the glorious High Weald enjoying a freshly prepared by a local proper chip shop lunch service followed by a slice of cake for dessert.

Your tickets are valid for train travel all day so if you wanted to remain on board, you might need to sit in another part of a train as we do have other experiences, you'd be more than welcome to!

Your experience will last just over 1 hour.

  • Plain Sausage & Chips
  • Veggie Burger & Chips (Please note, contains milk and egg, burger is Vegetarian but not Vegan

We unfortunately cannot cater for vegan or gluten free dietary requirements on this experience due to the supplier.

What’s included in the ticket price?

  • Heritage train ride lasting around 1 hour along the Spa Valley Railway, your departure time and station are shown on your eTicket and you'll return to your start location.
  • A main and dessert from the menu above.
  • At seat waiting service with drinks service allowing you to purchase more drinks on board.

We regret that due to the nature of the 1960s carriages we cannot accommodate wheelchair users on these dining experiences. Please note there are no alternatives to the above menu choices. If you have any special dietary requirements we must be made aware at the time of booking, menu options must be chosen during the booking process which does include a vegetarian option. It is impossible for us to alter the menu on the evening. We unfortunately cannot cater for vegan dietary requirements on this experience due to the supplier.

Booking information

Advance booking is essential to ride on our Fish & Chip trains.

On the day of your visit you MUST have your eTickets available to show either in a print out or on a mobile device, both will be checked visually by a member of staff before boarding the train.

Note that a £10 admin fee applies to all booking alterations.

We regret that there can be no refund or transfer to a future date for ‘no show’ customers. The Spa Valley Railway still incurs charges for its services which must be paid to our suppliers. We recommend taking out a form of insurance to protect yourself if necessary. To re-book you will be required to pay the full fare again.
