Steam & Heritage Diesel Train Rides 2022

Take a steam and heritage diesel train ride through the High Weald!
Enjoy a train ride this with a steam locomotive and a heritage diesel between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge, calling at High Rocks and Groombridge. You can sit back and relax letting the train take the strain, which is perfect on those damp rainy moments or bright sunny days!

Our Green timetable operates regularly throughout July, August, September & October. Click here for our Calendar. On the timetable shown below if you'd like a ride on a train hauled by a steam locomotive these trains are shown with 'S' above the time, so the 10:30, 13:25 & 16:15 from Tunbridge Wells West and the 12:35 & 1:25 from Eridge are are steam hauled. If you'd like a ride behind a heritage diesel locomotive these trains are shown with 'D' above the time, so the 11:55 & 14:45 from Tunbridge Wells West and the 11:15, 14:05 & 16:55 from Eridge are hauled by a heritage diesel locomotive.

Trains do not stop at High Rocks unless we have been informed they are open to the public. Please check before you visit to ensure you can alight at the station.

What to see and do along the line?

• Tunbridge Wells – The famous Spa town, including many pubs and restaurants and the world famous Pantiles. 
• High Rocks – High Rocks Inn and the High Rocks themselves, under 18s must be accompanied on the rocks.
• Groombridge – Junction Inn or Crown Inn for a bite to eat, Groombridge Place, Country Bike Hire to explore the Forest Way.
• Eridge – The Huntsman Pub for a bite to eat.

• Adult – £15.00
• Senior (60+) £14.00
• Child (2-15yrs) £7.50
• Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) – £38.00

Fares (Valid for ONE return trip without break of journey only)*:

• Adult – £10.00
• Senior (60+) £9.00
• Child (2-15yrs) £5.00
• Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) – £20.00

*The above ONE return trip fares are discounted from our all day tickets and are for those just visiting for a quick ride along the line and would rather not spend all day with us, other fares including one way trips to/from Tunbridge Wells West, High Rocks, Groombridge and Eridge are available from our ticket offices.

Tickets can be bought online in advance or are available on the day from our ticket offices at Tunbridge Wells West, Groombridge or Eridge. If you wish to start your journey at High Rocks you will need to purchase a ticket on the train. There is no reserved seating for tickets purchased online or on the day. 

If you book online, on the day of your visit you MUST have your eTickets available to show either in a print out or on a mobile device, either will be checked visually by a member of staff before boarding the train.
