Join us for an all-new dining experience on board a steam hauled train at the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells. Gin, Jazz & Steam combines an evening of sampling delicious gins with the delights of jazz music and an unforgettable journey on a fabulous steam train!

What's involved?
Arrive at Tunbridge Wells West station from 18:15 for a welcome G&T in a Spa Valley Railway gin glass – which you can keep, at 18:30 the fantatsic Ruby Robinson and Jazz band will perform in the engine shed prior to you heading for the steam hauled train ahead of a 19:00 departure.

Once on baord the train you can sit back and relax as you travel through the High Weald Countryside with the sounds of jazz playing in the background as you tuck into a freshly prepared Ham or Cheese Ploughman's Supper.

Alight at at our last station to enjoy a further live performance by Ruby Robinson and the jazz band, rejoining the train it will steam back to Tunbridge Wells West where upon arrival you'll get to see another live performance on our station concourse before taking to your seats once more for another journey down the line, this time tucking into everyone's favourite Eton Mess! 

Another live performance will follow at our last station before you head back to the Spa town for one last time, arriving back between 21:30 and 22:00.

Throughout the evening you can purchase a range of gins and mixers to enjoy at the comfort of your seats, the expected menu is below.

Ruby Robinson
Based between London & Essex, UK, Ruby has performed on stages all over the country including prestigious London venues such as West End’s Cafe de Paris and Le QuecumBar Brasserie, to venues abroad such as Swing 46 Jazz and Supper Club, New York City! 

Gracing stages for over a decade, Ruby’s professional story began aged sixteen where she landed a lead vocalist role in The Melvin Beddow Big Band, which led her to joining The Glenn Miller Story UK Tour as a lead and group vocalist. Since then, she has toured around the UK with several Big Bands performing on great stages including HQ and Ambassador Theatre Groups, SOLD OUT multiple London venues, organised and choreographed cabarets as a Bluecoat for Pontin's Holiday Camps, as well as hosted and performed at several private, corporate and communal events.

She also featured as a Guest Vocalist at The Big Band Blitz 1940’s Gala which was featured on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing!

A rising talent in the UK’s live music scene, Ruby is not to be missed!

She draws great influence from the iconic divas of Jazz including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Blossom Dearie and Peggy Lee. She is well-known for her fantastic stage presence and flair, her excellent stylistic technique of women beyond her years, and her strong, warm tone. With her repertoire inspired from over 100 years of music, her passion for the Great American Song Book brings a refreshing, traditional and finessed approach to audiences with a touch of glamour at every performance!

Advance booking is essential to ride on our Gin, Jazz & Steam Experience

Please book the required amount of tickets to match the size of your party.

We are only able to cater for meat or vegetarian dietary needs on this service. 

Tables will be allocated after booking.

On the day of your visit you MUST have your eTickets available to show either in a print out or on a mobile device, both will be checked visually by a member of staff before boarding the train.

Note that a £10 admin fee applies to all booking alterations.

We regret that there can be no refund or transfer to a future date for ‘no show’ customers. The Spa Valley Railway still incurs charges for its services which must be paid to our suppliers. We recommend taking out a form of insurance to protect yourself if necessary. To re-book you will be required to pay the full fare again.
