Cream Tea's and heritage trains!
At the Spa Valley Railway we have been operating our Cream Tea trains through the High Weald for many years, always popular with our passengers and sell out fast we're delighted to announce that following the period of closure during COVID-19 we are once again operating our popular Cream Tea trains, under different conditions to our previous trains to ensure we can maintain Social Distancing and be COVID secure. 

What’s on offer?
Join the train at Tunbridge Wells West and at departure time the train will set off for Eridge. Whilst on your journey you will enjoy a Cream Tea on the return trip. You will return to Tunbridge Wells West approximately 1hr 5-15 minutes later. There will be a break at Eridge for you to see the steam locomotive and access the station. 

What has changed?

1. To ensure we maintain Social Distancing and are COVID secure we will be using two 'Open' carriages which have an aisle down the centre. Passengers will be sat 1m+ from other passengers with protective screens being provided between the bays of seats.
2. On train toilets and a walk-up-bar service will not be available and you will be asked to board and disembark in a certain order. Toilets will be available at Tunbridge Wells West and Groombridge along with hand sanitisation points at both stations.
3. On-board catering staff will be wearing additional PPE, they will be wearing masks when they need to approach your bay of seats and will wear gloves when handling anything that we need to put on your table (i.e. a drink). All staff have been briefed on the need to routinely wash their hands and they will have access to our handwashing facilities in bar car 'Kate'. 
4. A limited drinks menu will be available, and glassware will not be provided, instead disposable cups/wine glasses will be available.
5. Hot drinks will be provided in disposable cups and not the usual crockery.
6. Napkins and pre-packed cutlery will be provided on your table.
7. High Rocks station is closed.
8. It is not possible to break your journey at Groombridge and return on a later train.
9. You will be required to wear a face covering when on our stations, in our buildings and when not consuming food or drink.

What’s included in the ticket price?

• Cream service on the train from Tunbridge Wells West.
• A traditional Cream Tea served on board one of our heritage carriages.
• 1x large sultana scone, clotted cream portion, jam and cup of tea.

We regret that it is not possible to cater for the following dietary requirements: Diabetic, Vegan, Dairy Free, Nut or any other allergies on this service.
A list of allergens is available on request.

Private hire Cream Teas
Our Cream Teas may be available for private hire on certain days we're already operating our Green timetable. This must be pre-booked at least two months in advance and is dependent on our own services.

We can cater for up to 48 guests for a Cream Tea in one of our dining cars. We can even take you from either Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge or Eridge stations to a destination on our line of your choice! This is the perfect way to celebrate that all important anniversary, birthday or for business/corporate functions.

Prices for private hire Cream Teas start at just £18 per adult and £12 per child.
