Spa Valley Railway » Driver Experience!
Fancy getting some miles in behind resident Class 31/4 31430 'Sister Dora'?
Well on Saturday 18th April 2020 you can do just that from 10:30 until 18:30 with a variety of return trips available behind the 1961 built Brush Traction, Loughborough machine. 'Sister Dora' arrived at the Spa Valley Railway in October 2018 following major work at the Mangapps Farm Railway to return it to service, fitted with an English Electric 12SVT power unit generating 1470Hp the loco has proven very popular amongst visitors and crews alike so we are delighted to offer you the chance to spend a day behind the engine.
Normally our trains only operate 30 miles per day so this opportunity will give you the chance to travel many more miles between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge that day.
At Eridge, a resident diesel will be on hand to haul all trains from Eridge Ground Frame into the station, we have no run round facilities at this station however the this loco will not itself pull a train other than these short moves. At Eridge, if you wanted to skip a trip you could always visit the Huntsman Pub.
Standard fares apply for our Class 31 running day:
