'Thumper' 1317 Purple Timetable Days

The Spa Valley Railway is home to a very unique train. Back in July 1985 when the line closed the last trains were operated by a type of diesel multiple unit, affectionately known as 'Thumpers', we're lucky to be home to one of these units, in fact we're home to one that operated on the last day of train services in 1985 which is Class 207 DEMU 1317, built at Eastleigh in 1962 and ran on the national rail network until 2004.

Our unlimited travel day tickets allow you to explore the High Weald countryside, including High Rocks (when open, click here for details) and Groombridge. 

• Trains depart from Tunbridge Wells West at: 10:45, 12:00, 13:45 & 15:00.
• Trains depart from Eridge at: 11:20, 12:35, 14:20 & 15:35.
