40th Anniversary of Line Closure Event

COMMEMORATING 40 YEARS SINCE CLOSURE OF THE TUNBRIDGE WELLS CENTRAL TO ERIDGE LINE
Having initially survived closure during the 1960's famous Beeching Axe, the line between Tunbridge Wells Central and Eridge soldiered on for passengers until 6^th July 1985.

Back then the line was home to the `Thumpers' and our preserved example, Class 207 1317 operated on that last day paired with another (1311) and together they formed the last shuttle service from Eridge to Tunbridge Wells West.

40 years later we're turning back the clock and marking the occasion with 1317 in use, guided tours, historic displays and lots more! Further details will be made available in due course and tickets will go on sale in May 2025.
