The Kent Evening Cheese Train! « Spa Valley Railway

We have a cracking idea for you!
Join us for an evening on the Kent Cheese train with two return trips along the Spa Valley Railway. During the journey, you get the chance to enjoy a selection of local cheeses brought to you in partnership with The Cheese Shop, Tunbridge Wells, served with a variety of crackers, chutney, breads, olives, stuffed peppers, and grapes. A drink of your choice is also included in the price!

Cheese selection

Winterdale Shaw – Made by Winterdale Cheesemakers, Wrotham nr. Sevenoaks. Kent. Unpasteurised, not suitable for vegetarians. Traditional cheddar style, smooth and buttery with rich, earthly flavours
Kentish Blue – Made by Kingcott Dairy, Staplehurst, Kent. Unpasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Firm texture, smooth blue notes with a great aftertaste
Sussex Brie – Made by Alsop & Walker, Five Ashes, East Sussex. Pasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Mellow grassy notes and a hint of nuttiness
Mayfield – Made by Alsop & Walker, as per Sussex Brie. Pasteurised, suitable for vegetarians. Easy eating, sweet, nutty and creamy flavours

What’s included in the ticket price?

Heritage train ride departing Tunbridge Wells West at 19:00 and returning by 21:30.
4x individual portions of cheese (don’t worry, they’re good-sized portions!)
Chutney – Caramelised Onion Marmalade and Apricot and Ginger
The Fine Cheese Co.’s crackers.
A selection of appetisers and snacks on your table, including breads, butter, olives, stuffed peppers and grapes.
A complimentary drink, either a small cider or white, red or rosé wine or soft drink.

Adult – £42 per person.

The cheese offered is not vegan or dairy-free, and we are not able to source an alternative option; all cheese is locally sourced.

Note that a £10 admin fee applies to all booking alterations.

If the date and time above is shown in Red, then it is sold out - no further bookings can be taken for that date.

Dogs are not allowed on this experience in line with our guidance here.

Our dining carriages operate with a mixture of tables for 2 and tables for 4. Smaller parties may need to share their table at times.

We regret that there can be no refund or transfer to a future date for ‘no show’ customers. The Spa Valley Railway still incurs charges for its services which must be paid to our suppliers. We recommend taking out a form of insurance to protect yourself if necessary. To re-book you will be required to pay the full fare again.
